Turkey 2006-072006-07 marks my second year playing in Turkey. This season has been one of the best and most interesting seasons I've been a part of. My teammates are great and we've been through a lot, coaching change, injuries, car accidents, and the loss of a family member. Despite all that adversity, we managed to stay together and positive. One of my teammates is 36 years old and she balls out every game. Of course, she and I butted heads but we are good friends and I've have learned so much from her. Currently, there are 17 active WNBA players competing in this year's Turkish league. I play for Ceyhan Spor Club and led the league in assists with 6.1, and 3rd in points (19.4). I recorded the highest assist for 1 game with 14 and the highest point total for 1 game with 39. On January 13, 2007 we defeated Turkey's No 1 team, Fenerbache (top 8 finalist in Euroleague) on my 2 FTS with no time remaining to win the game 87-86. My team is known for having supportive (some would say a bit crazy) fans. In fact, some smashed windows on our opponents travel bus, who got into a brawl with the police during a game, and was suspended for 2 of our home games due to throwing stuff on the court after the refs made a "questionable" call. They may be crazy but so loyal to our team... and they gave me the best nickname "SUPER MARIO JULIE."
